Drum Furniture

Be Patient as this website is going to be under continual review and reconstruction

G'day Guys and welcome to drumfurniture. Many people say this is the best drinking furniture in the world, and it is. If you are looking for patio furniture, bar furniture, shed furniture, or furniture with a difference you have come to the right web site. Each piece is hand made and customised to suit your tastes, wants, and decor.

I was running a drum reconditioning business in the Goulburn Valley region of Australia, fixing old 44 gallon drums, (205 lt) for local industries so they could reuse the drums for their products. No matter how good my equipment was or how skilled my boys were there was always drums that couldn't be used in industry. This led to an accumulation of 3000 drums that were only good to be scrapped behind the house. You can well imagine what the Wife had to say.

One night Leighton Wallace who was working for me at the time asked me what we were going to do with the pile of crap out the back.

"Crush them" was my response

"Do you think we could make a chair "? Leighton said

"I'll go to the pub and get the beers" I said. So drumfurniture was born in July 2000.

Since this date drumfurniture has evolved from what we percieved to be one off pieces of artwork to sets of the Worlds Best Drinking Furniture and from what most describe it as when they see it the most quintessential Aussie furniture ever made.

The chairs get more comfortable the more you sit in them. People have rounded bodies not square, so they need a rounded chair.

“My furniture is not perfect. My customers aren’t looking for fine furniture. They’re buying something that is not going to break or blow away” Custom handcrafted drum furniture.

Check out the amazing possibilities, collection pieces and unique works of art.

This is outdoor furniture at its most sturdy and rustic. People ask how long it will last, well every 100 years you have to get them regalvanised, apart from that they are low to no maintenance. They will not blow away in the wind and they won’t rust.
